Following a successful regional collaboration forum in 2021 which detailed top priority projects for the region to advocate for, NTDC has once again worked with our partners to identify the projects for 2023 and beyond.

40 project submissions were received, which adhered to key focal points for the future as identified by northern leaders in May 2023:

  • Renewable Energy. Leveraging our opportunities around Tasmania’s investment in renewable energy and decarbonization;

  • Building Liveability. Enhancing our liveability and acknowledging the role this plays in population attraction and retention;

  • Improving Educational Outcomes. Growth in regional productivity and prosperity is fundamentally linked to educational outcomes;

  • Healthy Communities. Noting this plays a significant role in the region’s economic productivity; and

  • Building our Brand. Capitalising on our environmental strengths to grow our region’s export incomes.

Amazing initiatives have been uncovered ranging for large multi-million-dollar investments in stadiums and museums through to community housing and social services initiatives, upgrades to roading, trail and logistics infrastructure through to clusters of sporting facility upgrades and projects seeking to change the way we appreciate our food systems and sporting.
